WELCOME TO SUMMIT SEMESTER

Summit Semester is a licensed academically focused therapeutic program for students 13-19 years old transitioning from wilderness programs and/or treatment centers.

The Summit Semester provides an effective, affordable, flexible length program for students requiring ongoing therapeutic support and structure.

Semester students continue the process of growth and discovery initiated during wilderness while gradually transitioning to a more normal lifestyle within the safe confines or our campus community.

The key components guiding the Summit Semester transition are full time academics, community living, recreation, individual and group therapy and family work.

Students communicate regularly with family via weekly phone calls, frequent letters, and family visits. Students earn transferable academic credit and develop behaviors and work study skills that contribute to learning. Individual therapy with a master’s level therapist takes place at minimum for one hour each week and more as necessary. Group sessions take place daily in a variety of formats and settings facilitated by the direct care staff or the Summit Semester Director. During weekends our students and staff engage in community service, active and social recreation, free time and the development of life management skills such as meal planning, budgeting, cooking and chores.
