Summit Suspension operates on a weekly schedule similar to that of a traditional boarding school. Students attend school from 9-3 on Monday through Friday with a 2 hour study hall 5 nights per week. Lights out at 10PM is strictly enforced. Students study in a closely monitored study hall environment in our Academic Center. Summit Suspension staff will assist as much as possible in meeting academic needs.

The Admissions Office at SASS will work with the sending school to make academic and transportation arrangements. The sending school will provide syllabus and assignments to ensure that students are able to continue with their work independently so that their return to school will be as seamless as possible.*

Students are responsible for bringing all assignments, books, projects and classroom materials with them to commence work immediately. An appropriate amount of work must be provided by the school to keep the student engaged for the duration of their suspension. In keeping with our electronics policy, the internet, although accessible by arrangement for academics specifically, is not readily available to our students. They will not have access to cell phones, email, social networks or online games.

Summit Suspension will provide a quiet, structured, and supervised place of study in our Academic Center with appropriate breaks, snacks and meals for 7 hours per weekday. Students are ultimately responsible to their school for all school work. Summit cannot guarantee that all work sent by school will be completed. Students requiring intensive levels of remediation and direction might not be appropriate for Summit Suspension.

*Summit Achievement operates a state licensed school. The short term nature of suspension services requires that the sending school provides detailed assignments and the appropriate resources. Students with very specific academic/behavioral needs may require an educational aide at additional cost.
